Welcome to Reedley

Reedley is located about 25 miles south east of Fresno. Reedley is a charming city, maintaining its old world appeal. The city´s downtown area is a collection of turn-of-the-century buildings providing the location for specialty shops and restaurants. The Reedley Opera House is restored and offers an array of local theater and other events.

 

The Kings River travels near Reedley and provides a beautiful backdrop for family picnics and recreations. Yosemite, Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks are located within an hour´s drive of the city. For those golf enthusiasts, there are several wonderful golf courses at serve the community.


Reedley economic base is primarily agriculture. The areas intensely rich fame lands provide a vast variety of fruits, vegetables, grain and cotton. Since 1946, Reedley has been the largest supplier of fresh fruits, hence the nickname, The World´s Fruit Basket. There are more than thirty fruit and vegetable packing and cold storage facilities and long with wineries, supply tree and vine fruit products. In addition to the strong ag base, Reedley other related industries include boxes and packaging machinery and automatic packing equipment.

 

Forefront in the community is education. There are seven elementary, three junior and two high schools, both public and private. Reedley College has been providing education to the local residents for over 70 years.
